The Fat Flush Plan 3 Book Set **The Fat Flush Plan **The Fat Flush Cookbook with more than 200 recipes **The Fat Flush Journal and Shopping Guide
The Simple Diet That Really Works
There are so many diet plans out there, we've all seen them. These are based on one of three possible programs.
First - The traditional Low Fat Diet. This is supported by the American Heart Association and most medical professionals as the healthiest way to go. This diet seems to be the hardest because it isn't easy to keep those fat levels down.
Second - The Low Carb Diet . This has become very popular due to the Atkins program. You can definitely eat more on this diet, but the "black-list" is huge and this diet is frequently abused. Abused because most low-carbohydrate eaters are still not getting enough vegetables in their diet. Some variations, such as the South Beach diet, allow you to eat "whole carbohydrates", but not refined carbohydrates. In other words, avoid white flour, white sugar, etc. Eat foods more like they are found in nature.
Third - Food Portion Control. Some of the more successful dieters out there swear by this. They suggest you eat less food by managing (and balancing) your portions. You can eat pretty much what you want, but just less of everything. The next time you are at a restaurant, try to leave half of your meal on the plate and leave even more of the fats and sugars on the plate. Two bites of cake can be just as rewarding as the whole slice. The primary benefits of this program is that it's easy to live with as a life long diet.

If you do not know which carbohydrates are good, which sugars are bad, or how to sort out your fats, then you may need a book to help you understand what's good, what's bad, etc. I won't attempt to teach you all that here. But I can share a few simple guidelines to keep you healthy while you start down the road to wellness.
1. Avoid sodas, even diet sodas. Sodas are too acidic and are major contributors to a PH imbalance in your body. PH imbalance may be the cause of various skin rashes, acid reflux, or other health problems. Filtered Drinking Water water is better, but mineral or spring water is even better. Water with minerals is more alkaline and helps to offset your acid intake. Improve the overall health of your body by drinking spring water all day long.
2. Juices in moderation. Most people love juices. Juices can be higher in acid and sugars that you might expect. If you eat the fruit instead of the juice, you get fiber, less sugars, and less acid. Eat whole fruits and go easy on the fruit juices. If you must drink fruit juices use a High Quality Juice Extractor
3. Avoid refined sugars and flours. Learn to like whole wheat, fruits (not juices), etc. Don't be a sugar junkie or a bread junkie. The book Lick the Sugar Habit really helped me with my sugar addiction. Everything in moderation. When you do choose your breads, read the labels and find whole wheat flour and lower sugar content. As for loafs of bread, I recommend making your own. You can add fiber, whole wheat flour, and make it sugar free as well. It tastes great too and has the best nutrition. The Breadman's Healthy Bread Book: Use Your Bread Machine to Make More Than 100 Delicious, Wholesome Breads is a fantastic resource.
4. Eat green foods. Spinach, broccoli, etc. I also recommend green drinks. Green drinks are basically a "salad in a glass" that comes in powdered form. You can mix with water, tomato juice, etc. Green foods are natures miracle foods. They are alkaline rich, vitamin rich, and can be prepared in a wide variety of ways. Fresh vegetables taste better and frozen vegetables are thought to be more nutritious since they are allow to ripen before harvesting. My favorite is spinach. I use fresh spinach and saute it with olive oil and lots of fresh garlic. It reduces down to a beautiful vegetable dish in just a couple of minutes and it tastes MUCH better than the canned spinach most people are used to. For you low-carbohydrate fans, Dr. Atkins recommends lots of green foods as well. If you are interested in trying the green drink product or would like more information, please have a look at this wonderful product: Now's Green Phyto Foods 10oz So the rule of thumb is simple. Eat lots of green foods and drink spring water. Eat whole fruits instead of juices. Avoid sodas, refined sugars, and refined carbohydrates. Your health and wellness will improve dramatically.
